Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

Over time, multiple factors such as pregnancy, nursing, and gravity take their toll on a woman's breasts. As the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag. The mastopexy procedure is designed to reposition and reshape the breast to a more youthful state. The best results are usually achieved in women with small, sagging breasts, but breasts of any size can be lifted.

A variety of surgical techniques exist to lift the breast and each has a unique scar pattern. You and your surgeon will work together to determine the ideal procedure for your body.

The operation is performed under a general anesthetic and usually takes less than three hours. Most patients go home the same day and typically will not require a surgical drain. Most patients require pain medications for one week and have returned to work and most daily activities within two weeks. We will ask you to refrain from heavy lifting and exercise for 6 weeks following your surgery.
