Cari Widmer, ARNP

Cari Widmer is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. She grew up in Northern Nevada and received her B.S. from the University of Nevada , Reno . Her first masters degree in the science of nursing was completed at Samuel Merritt College , which emphasized case management. Over the next 7 years she worked as a registered nurse in Emergency Departments throughout Northern California and the Seattle area. In addition she has taught at Seattle University Nursing Department as an adjunct professor. In 2005 she returned to school to obtain her second masters degree in nursing as a family nurse practioner. As an ARNP she has worked for the University of Washington Medical Center as a teaching associate in the Department of Cardiology as well as the Emergency Department/ Urgent Care. Over the last year she has followed her dream and specialized as an ARNP in general dermatology. Her experience includes both pediatric and adult dermatological disorders, including but not limited to: acne, warts, skin rashes, fungal infections, hair and nail disorders. In addition she routinely provides comprehensive skin screenings, cryotherapy, biopsies and excisions. Cari has always been passionate about dermatology.

“The first health care provider I remember having an ongoing relationship with was my dermatologist,” she says. “After developing acne as a teenager, we battled with cleansers, topical agents, and antibiotics. Nothing worked. Finally after 10 years she put me on Accutane; it was a lifesaver. It completely changed my life. I developed more confidence and felt so good about myself. From then on, I knew I wanted to do that for others, to make them feel good about themselves and their skin.”
