Dr. Pratt Announces Retirement from Aesthetic Surgery Centre
It is with bittersweet emotion that we announce the upcoming retirement of our founding physician/owner, David V. Pratt, MD. Dr. Pratt started the Aesthetic Surgery Centre 28 years ago and has been a beloved provider and leader to our patients and our staff. Dr Pratt will be greatly missed but we are happy to know he will be spending his days with his wife, Cheryl and their family (and dog Bailey!) in the warm, Arizona sunshine.
Dr. Pratt is no longer accepting new patients or surgical consults but will continue to see his follow up and postoperative patients through July 17th.
Dr. Jason Lewis, a Facial Oculoplastic Surgeon, has joined the practice and will begin seeing patients on July 2nd. Please see Dr. Lewis’ bio to learn more about him!
David V. Pratt, MD, is a board-certified Oculofacial & Facial Plastic Surgeon at Aesthetic Surgery Centre & Medical Spa with three locations in Puyallup, Tacoma, and Federal Way, Washington. Dr. Pratt sees patients at the practice’s Tacoma office.
He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in biology from Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) in Tacoma, where he graduated magna cum laude. His innate appreciation for art led him to pursue an art degree during his undergraduate education.
Next, Dr. Pratt received his medical degree from the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles. He received many awards for his research and scholastic achievements, including being elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, a renowned national medical honor society.
After his general surgery internship, Dr. Pratt served in the military for three years as a medical officer in the United States Navy. Following his service to our country, he completed an ophthalmology residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
His extensive training ended with a two-year fellowship in oculoplastics and facial cosmetic surgery at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. During this time, Dr. Pratt was awarded the Heed Fellowship, an honor only given to 25 physicians annually.
With over two decades of experience in the medical industry, Dr. Pratt is a leading plastic and reconstructive surgeon specializing in eyelid and face surgery. As a trained ophthalmologist, he also manages disorders of the orbit and tear ducts.
Dr. Pratt has given presentations throughout the United States on subjects ranging from orbital disease and oncology to cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery. His independent studies and works have been published in numerous medical textbooks and journals throughout his career.
He is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) and the Oculofacial Society.
Dr. Pratt grew up in the northwestern region of the United States. Currently, he lives in Gig Harbor, Washington, with his wife, Cheryl, and their eight children.
