Dr. Jason Lewis is an oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgeon serving patients in Tacoma, Washington. With his extensive training, he brings a unique combination of surgical precision, artistry, and experience to both reconstructive and aesthetic care. He is board-certified in Ophthalmology, Orbital Surgery and Oculofacial plastic surgery.
Dr. Lewis earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Physiology and Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of California, San Diego, before earning his medical degree from Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, Washington. He completed his surgical internship at Madigan Army Medical Center, ophthalmology residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and fellowship in Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
During more than a decade of service in the U.S. Armed Forces, Dr. Lewis rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and served as Chief of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center. He also served as the White House Ophthalmology Liaison on the Executive Medical Team at Walter Reed, providing care to senior government officials and their families. His military service was recognized with numerous honors, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal.
Today, Dr. Lewis provides comprehensive oculofacial surgical care, including eyelid and brow surgery, ptosis repair, eyelid reconstruction, Mohs reconstruction, cosmetic lower eyelid surgery, midface and facelift procedures, lacrimal surgery, and orbital surgery.
What he finds most rewarding is helping patients look and feel like themselves again—particularly when reconstructive surgery can restore both function and confidence. He approaches each patient as an individual, combining meticulous surgical technique with thoughtful, personalized care.
Dr. Lewis believes patients should feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout their care. His goal is not only to achieve natural, beautiful results, but also to provide an experience built on trust, compassion, and clear communication.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Lewis enjoys Washington’s outdoors and traveling with his wife and two children. He is also an avid hockey player and coaches his children’s teams.
